This super-prime property had been vacant for many years. shape+’s brief was to extend and comprehensively refurbish the house, ensuring it would meet the exacting requirements for properties of this type.
The building sits in a prominent location on the edge of Hampstead Golf Club within the Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust Conservation Area.
Working closely with the client and design team we developed a scheme that reserviced, extended and reshaped the property to create a beautiful family home. Externally, the building was extensively refurbished, retaining the original character, with new roof lights + dormers ensuring the property is bathed in natural light. A basement and ground floor extension to the rear, linked to the main house by a glazed stairwell, includes a contemporary kitchen / dining area overlooking the generous garden.
